This world is run by religion
We're told what to do by a figment of ignorance
A man-made embodiment of good and of evil
Used for thousands of years to control the people
Societies waging wars over deities
It's nothing more than a psychotic reality
Murdered in the name of gods you don't believe in
Wars fought by prophets of imagination
Heaven
is just an idea
Thought of by those who are afraid to die
Hell
is just a threat
Used to scare your children into compliance
Living your life just to get into heaven
Whether it's for god or for 72 virgins
Historically only leads to corruption, terrorism, war, and the fall of a nation
You reap what your preacher sows
You sleep in the bed that your parents made
This world is run by religion
and whether you like it or not, you'll never win
Heaven
is just an idea
Thought of by those who are afraid to die
Hell
is just a threat
Used to scare your children into compliance

Millions of people
In this country alone
Don't have a meal
Or don't have a home
A wasteful society
Of ignorant sheep
Blinded by things
That they don't need
Mass consumption
Has taken over
Driven by want
Consumed with greed
Businesses get rich
Off the backs of others
But nobody knows
And nobody cares
A nation stuck
Watching reality tv
Distracting themselves
From actual reality
People are so
Swept up in meaningless interests
They cannot see
What's actually happening
Perhaps they find comfort
In being lied to
But wouldn't we all
Like to know the truth
The world is overrun
By death and despair
But nobody knows
And nobody cares

America, a symbol of religious freedom
As long as you're a god fearing bible bashing Christian
If you're, Islamic, Agnostic or Atheist
You become a victim of discrimination
One nation under God is an exaggeration
Since only half of this country is actually Christian
Yet for some reason they feel like they should be in charge
While everyone else is left broken and scarred
The religious right
A never ending contradiction
The worlds at a loss
Liberty dies on the cross
Same god, different name
To me they all look exactly the same
They're making us fight and holding us back
So keep the church out of the state
I'm sick of conservatives pushing their agendas
And shoving their beliefs into modern day laws
Maybe if they actually read their damn bible
They'd know that it said don't mix government and god
The religious right
A never ending contradiction
The worlds at a loss
Liberty dies on the cross

Economic supremacy
Corporate overlords
A fraction of the one percent
Winning the war
Criminal businessmen
Living in luxury
While your hard labor
Pays for their vacation
This is the Vile Maxim
the Vile Maxim
Self imposed authority
Lust for obedience
Systematic fallacies
It's all just a game
They steal half your income
And make you think they need it
While they're already at the top
With everything they need
This is the Vile Maxim
the Vile Maxim
